Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Private Portfolio ("the app"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app.

Description of Service

Private Portfolio is a personal finance tracking application for macOS that allows you to track various asset types, view portfolio performance, fetch current market prices, and store all data locally with encryption.

License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may NOT: copy, modify, or distribute the app; reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app; remove any proprietary notices; use the app for any illegal purpose; or sublicense, sell, or rent access to the app.

Purchases and Payments

Free Tier

Private Portfolio offers limited free functionality (up to 3 assets). No payment is required.

Lifetime Unlock

A one-time in-app purchase unlocks unlimited assets. This purchase is processed through Apple's App Store, is a one-time non-recurring payment, and grants a perpetual license for your personal use.

Refunds

Refund requests must be submitted to Apple through their standard refund process.

Third-Party Services

The app integrates with third-party services (Alpha Vantage, Finnhub, CoinGecko, Metals.dev) to fetch market prices. You are responsible for obtaining your own API keys and complying with their terms of service.

We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or pricing changes of these third-party services.

Data Accuracy

Price data comes from third-party sources and may be delayed or inaccurate. Calculations are provided for informational purposes only.

"As Is" Provision

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, financial losses from investment decisions, or damages exceeding the amount you paid for the app.

Data and Privacy

Your use of the app is governed by our Privacy Policy. All data is stored locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or have access to your data.

Security

While we implement strong security measures (AES-256 encryption, Keychain storage), you are responsible for your device's security and your master password. We cannot recover lost passwords or data.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
